1. Memoria histórica. La aldea de Jornets se configuró a partir del establecimiento de la posesión homónima, a lo largo del siglo XVIII, a raíz de la gran expansión del cultivo de la viña. La posesión, por su parte, aparece documentada desde el siglo XVI, con cultivos de secano, cereales, y almendros y ganadería ovina. El cultivo de la viña, que se inició el siglo XVIII, como evidencia la construcción de una bodega en 1767, posibilitó el origen de la aldea. La época de crecimiento y desarrollo de la aldea, vinculado con el cultivo de la viña, acabó cuando la filoxera, a finales del siglo XIX, acabó con esta producción y redujo el número de habitantes, que tal como señaló el Archiduque en 1880 se reducía a 197 residentes en 49 casas. La reducción demográfica se acentuó desde el comienzo del XX, llegándose a los 48 habitantes de 1991.

2. Memoria descriptiva. El núcleo de Jornets, agregado al término de Sencelles, se localiza en el nordeste del término, muy cerca del límite con Inca, ocupando un área llana, atravesada por el torrente de Almadrà o de S’Estorell, con tierras muy apropiadas para el cultivo que ha favorecido el asentamiento poblacional. La trama urbana se configura por medio de una calle irregular, de pequeñas dimensiones, que atraviesa todo el núcleo, y una calle lateral, también de pequeñas dimensiones y actualmente sin salida. El abandono progresivo que se da a partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX ha hecho que la aldea no se haya visto muy modificada por construcciones ajenas a la tipología tradicional, mostrándose como un conjunto arquitectónico representativo de la Mallorca del s. XVIII-XIX. El tejido residencial está conformado básicamente por edificaciones destinadas a uso residencial. Se trata mayoritariamente de edificaciones de dos crujías y dos vertientes, de planta baja y piso, de gran austeridad formal y constructiva, con escasa presencia de elementos decorativos.
